Alex Steina
Alex is a postdoctoral researcher in Marta San Luciano’s lab. She earned her PhD at the Institute of Clinical Neuroscience and Medical Psychology at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, after completing a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Medical Physics. Her research focuses on identifying electrophysiological markers of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia. She is also interested in how deep brain stimulation modulates neural circuits and alleviates motor symptoms in these conditions. Outside the lab, Alex enjoys hiking, traveling, bouldering, as well as contradancing, lindy hop, and fusion dancing.
